Our childcare and young people's qualifications are suitable for anybody looking to work with young people, potential job roles including Early Years Educator, Education Welfare Officer, Communication Support Worker, Teaching Assistant, Special Educational Needs Teacher and Community Education Co-ordinator.

These qualifications will give you a good foundation in child development and an understand of what is required to keep children and young people safe as well as promote their well being, health and development in a positive environment.

Qualifications are suitable for beginners with level three qualifications aiming at those looking towards supervision and management in childcare.

This course will help you to develop the knowledge and skills required when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It is relevant to a wide range of job roles in early years and social care settings and is suitable for learners who wish to enter employment or are working in a supervised role in the Children and Young People’s Workforce.

In undertaking this course you will develop your confidence, enjoy working with children and young people, positively contribute to children's and young people's lives, become more employable in the childcare and youth work sectors, develop a greater understanding of your own children's development and achieve an industry recognised qualification.

You will cover:

  • Be able to communicate effectively with others involved in the care of children and young people

  • Understand the needs of children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and with special needs
