Construction Courses
The STC Group are an Ofsted grade good provider delivering trade courses to such a high standard we have received the Mayors Construction Academy kite mark. You can currently choose from six main construction areas: carpentry & joinery, wall & floor tiling, painting & decorating, plumbing, electrical and bricklaying, or take a multi-skills approach with modules for several trade areas including bathroom fitting. We also offer the Health and Safety L1 and CSCS testing provision as an accredited CITB testing centre.
We have a motivated team of highly skilled tutors, all offering the best professional trade skill training available. We put great emphasis on a high quality finish. In fact, if you do not hold the same high opinion of any training we deliver to you after completing your course with us, we will give you the opportunity to return and re take any modules you have undertaken; this is also true of any lecture you have taken as a refresher later on, so if your trained by us you can be confident you will receive complete technical support for as long as you need it after you finish.
Based at our Harold Wood training centre, our courses range from 1 week basic to 4 weeks advanced with courses currently running Monday to Friday starting every 2 weeks throughout the year. Our courses can be tailored to someone wanting to learn new skills in support of employment opportunities to experienced trades people looking to upskill. Our funded training takes the form of 2 weeks per trade and includes a health & safety L1, CSCS test and card. Referrals can be made by contacting your local job centre work coach.
Painting and Decorating
Training at our painting and decorating training centre in Romford, Essex, you can choose from a level 1 training centre course through to level 2 NVQ (taken as part of an apprenticeship) . The courses cover basic painting and wallpapering skills through to more complex patterned papers and advanced painting techniques.

Our trade courses are ideal for private individuals and construction companies looking to upskill their workers. All of our couses are ideal for beginners and those who want to try their hand at painting and decorating before deciding which areas to specialise in. However, they are equally suitable for experienced painters and decorators who wish to brush up their skills in a particular area or are looking to develop their skill set by learning advanced techniques including painting complex areas, using different types of paints and matching complex and patterned wallpaper.

Training at our multiskills training centre in Romford, Essex, you can choose from modules in painting and decorating, bricklaying and floor and wall tiling. You will normally take units in a maximum of two trade areas for the one or two week course, but could opt for more with our three and four week options. You can then decide to go on a specialise in one particular area with an advanced course or begin work as a handyman, facilities services worker or maintenance repair person.
